Before carbon offsetting, the first step should always be to see how we can avoid and reduce our emissions through thinking about how we use energy.

In order to promote a low carbon future, Carbon Clarity works with charity partners to deliver energy education and behaviour change initiatives with young people across the UK.

Action at School

Our principal charity partner is Global Action Plan, whose “Action at School” initiative engages students in environmental learning that helps schools to save money and to improve their environmental performance. Global Action Plan supports a student volunteer team, helping them to measure their school’s energy use; set improvement targets; communicate effectively; and build partnerships with local community organisations. Students come up with imaginative solutions and lead the way in implementing them, gaining skills in decision-making and project management.

Action at School links into the National Curriculum and is endorsed by the United Nations Environment Programme.
